Free Orange paper bunting printable and tutorial!

Yesterday the Dutch national soccer team won their first match on their way to the European championship. The tournament will start this sunday. Yay.

Let's get one thing straight: I HATE soccer. With a passion. I think it's completely meaningless to see twenty-two multi-millionaires kick a ball around. I try to have as little as possible to do with the whole thing.

Driving in the car with the dynamic duo in the backseat we went passed houses that were decorated with orange flags, bunting and other orange... Well... Crap. I think it's a waste of money, and I will be glad when it's all over. The dynamic duo, however, loved the bright colors and the bunting! And as usual, if the duo love it, mommy complies. *sigh*

So I made orange bunting. I'll never admit it of course, but I had fun making it too. You probably love soccer, or love your kids who love bunting, so I made a pdf file so you can make your own bunting. It's a good craft to make with your kids!

It is a dutch version, of course. If you need any other nationality, just make your own. :-p

Do you want this bunting? It's really easy. All you will need is this file, four sheets of orange paper, thread or ribbon, glue and a pair of scissors.

Start by printing the file on orange paper or cardstock.

Cut out he flags on the dotted line.

Fold over the flap at the end of the black lines.

Glue the flap to the flag with the thread in between.

Hang it so that everyone can see which team you are supporting.

Hendrik the Ragdoll

Inspired by this book I made the little man a ragdoll. We named him Hendrik. But he was lonely and the munchkin was jealous. So I made Charlotje. Apparently, she loves hairpins.

The little man loves Hendrik. We even got him his own bed (from Ikea) and the little man insisted that Hendrik got a bedtime story.

"Look, Barbapapa!"

Anyone in for a ragdoll tutorial?

There have been so many things going on, I coud hardly keep up with al the crafty ideas in my head. I'll show you more soon.

Mother's day

I still didn't show you what I made for Mother's day! My mom never knows what presents she wants to have. Flowers are a no-go, she thinks they are way more expensive around mother's day. So I made her some flowers myself.

It's a design from an old issue of Cross Stitcher magazine, I think it's from 2006. She was very happy with it and it has been put on display rightaway! Which goes to show that moms like handmade presents, no matter how old the kid is.

My cup of tea. Or yours?

Did you know Mothers day is approaching? Fast? And even faster if you haven't thought of making or buying your mom anything? Today was Mothers day for my mom. This sunday we are taking the kids to an amusement park (I'm a mom too, you know, so it's my party too) so I gave her a present today. Something I made, so it's extra-special. And no, I'm not cheap. I am just creative. So there. I'll show you what I made tomorrow.

Now let's talk about you. Did you plan anything? No??? In that case, let me save your ass. I made you something too. It's fun and it's so easy that even the dads out there can make it.

These are custom made teabag labels. If you were my kid, or husband, I would love a cup of tea with this label on mothers day. Or a box of teabags, all with this label. Or you can draw or paint your own labels. Or have your kids make them. If you want the ones I made for you, you can download the Dutch version the English version or a neutral version via Box.com.

No need to thank me for this idea! Just want to make sure I have done all I can to prevent you from having a sucky mother's day. If you want to thank anyone, just thank my trusty assistant. None of this would have been possible without his help.
It would just have been faster.
